Indonesia Manado Christmas Diving Trip

Manado is located on North Sulawesi, Indonesia, just 3 hours flight from Singapore. To our surprise, Manado is a Christian city, where they treat Christmas as one of their most important festive. We can notice that almost every houses are decorated with Christmas trees.

There are abundant divesites and diving activities for divers to choose with different interest if stay in Murez Resort. Murez is built by Dr. Batuna, which they have 20 well furnished rooms, with airconditioned, private bathroom with hot shower. They also have 3 liveaboard boat which can take more experience diver for dive safari in Bunaken and Lembeh Strait.

During our diving trip, we spent one day in Lembeh Strait, which is famous of its macro stuff. I saw several pigmy seahorse, in one dive. We also saw leaf fish of different types, flanbouyant cuttle fish, many nudibranchs, frog fish, giant seahorse, lots of mantis shrimps and gobies. The second day, we went to Manado Tua, a great wall diving, soft corals, sea fans are common here. The sites has strong current which is great chance to meet pelagics. Unfortunately, there is not much current when we went down and miss the chance to see the mantas. The third day, we went to Bunaken Reserve, here, we have several close encounter of sharks, groups of bat fish, jack fish, and playing with the Napoleon Wrasse. Of course, we also see few turtles.

Overall, we have a great diving holiday. In one trip, we are able to see different marine lives and have a taste of different divesites.

One more thing about Murez is that they offered superb cusine, a mixed of Chinese, Western and Indonesian suit everybody's appetite. Besides, Indonesia is in abundant supply of fruit, so you will also have the chance to taste different kind of fruit.

If you want to do other things than diving, Manado is great place for hiking, river rafting and horseback riding. I have tried horseback riding to the volcanoes, it is very exciting and it is an unforgetable experience.
